Deoriatal Trek
Perched at an elevation of 7,998 ft Deoriatal is a dazzling emerald freshwater lake. A short trek only of 2 kms, make it favorite among the beginners. Famous as weekend trekking destination Deoriatal routes with an admirable view of the Nandadevi, Mt. Trishul, and Chaukhamba peaks of the Himalayas.
The Deoriatal Lake is appareled with wooded forests all around. This crystal-clear lake blesses the tourists with its awe-inspiring mirror-like reflections of the Chaukhamba Peak.

Itineraries
Day 1
Reach Guptkashi
Reach Guptkashi by your own transport arrangements. Enjoy bonfire in evening followed by dinner.
Night stay at Kedar Resorts, Guptkashi.
Day 2
Goptkashi - Deoria Tal - Guptkashi
Start Time: 07:00 AM
Road Distance: 33 Kms | Duration: 1:30 hours || Trek Distance: 2 Kms Up & 2 Kms down | Duration: 1:30 hours each side.
After an early breakfast drive to Sari Village. The trek of 2 kms starts from here.
The trek offers grand view of the mountains and the valley. After crossing Sari village, and at the valley facing end, you can see the summit of Chandrashila and below it, the holy Tungnath temple. From here the trail goes by a beautiful rhododendron and maple forest. Deoriatal is an ideal spot for bird watching as well.
Packed lunch is served here. Later trek down to Sari, and drive to Guptkashi.
Night stay at Guptkashi.
Day 3
Check-out
After breakfast, check-out and proceed your onward journey.
- Non AC Accommodation on twin / triple sharing basis at Resort.
- All Veg meals on fix menu basis (From Dinner on Day 1 to B/F on Day 3). Packed meal for trekking route.
- Entry Fee & Forest Department's permit for trekking route.
- Porter cum guide services ONLY to carry meals on trekking route.
- B/F and Lunch on Day 1.
- Lunch and Dinner on Day 3.
- Any snacks, mineral water, medicines, charges.
- Any tips, priest charges, pooja charges, extra porter services, extra tour guide services.

Round the year. In winters the trek is snowy.
Limited Mobile network is available for Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, and BSNL numbers at Sari. However, on trekking route at most of the places, there may not be connectivity, and last network available is at base point (Sari) so finish your calls at Kanakchauri and inform your family about limited phone connectivity.
Woollen (Light woolen in summers) clothing – including thermal pants and shirts, a pair of woollen gloves, woollen and sun caps, 2 pairs of woollen socks, a woollen scarf, thick jackets, etc.
At least 5 litres of bottled water and instant food like cookies and cakes.
Necessary toiletries like hand sanitizers, towels, napkins, etc.
Extra bio-degradable bags
Sunglasses and lip balms.
Waterproof rucksack and rain cover for rucksack.
Medical kit, including any prescribed medicines
Torch with fresh batteries

Raincoat or windcheater
Relevant trekking and camping gear like trekking shoes, trekking backpack, trekking poles, etc.
Carry minimum weight as you will be responsible for your own baggage.
Do not use plastic, or in case you do, keep it with you for disposal at a facility.
Consuming liquor and smoking is not allowed for the journey.
The decision of the trek leader will be final and binding.
Delays may occur due to weather conditions
Any person with health conditions like Asthma etc is advised not to go for this expedition. However, if they so decide, it is at their own risk.
Ensure the safety of your own baggage.
The temperature varies from a minimum -3 degrees to a maximum of 15 degrees during the day. Please pack accordingly.
Carry all your garbage back with you, and dispose at prescribed places only in dustbins.
